Job Title: Kitchen & Bath Designer

Position Overview
Actively consulting with clients to design and sell kitchen and bath cabinetry and related products.

Essential Job Functions
• Sell cabinetry and related kitchen & bath products to high end clients
• Work with clients to determine their needs and budget
• Prepare and present proposals to clients based on their requirements and budget
• Space plan and design for custom cabinetry
• Order cabinetry and associated products from vendors, ensure timely delivery
• Follow up with clients and vendors to provide quality materials and timely delivery
• Respond to customer service inquiries
• Delegate and communicate effectively with design engineers regarding design and cabinetry orders
• Input sales orders and purchase orders into IDAC computer systems

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Competent level computer skills using Microsoft software programs and CAD or hand drafting
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and an even temperament in communicating with clients, vendors and staff
• Strong sales ability
• Ability to multi-task
• High level attention to detail in preparing orders
• Ability to follow-up on open issues
• Ability to motivate and train staff

Minimum Qualifications (Education and/or Work Experience)
• Four year degree in interior design or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Design Engineer

Preferred Qualifications (Education and/or Work Experience)
• AKBD or CKD and/or CBD
• NCIDQ certified and or licensed designer
• Experience in a showroom or practicing interior design

Physical and/or Mental Demands
• Physical demands and work environment are representative of those in a general office environment.
• Manual dexterity required in the use of normal office equipment i.e., computers, copiers, fax machines, etc…
• Field work including measurements at job sites, moderate travel for out of town clients
• Lift/moving samples, cabinets, moldings, misc. parts & pieces

Design Engineer

Job Title: Design Engineer

Position Overview
Use design skills to draft floor plans, elevations, and perspectives of cabinetry layouts. Also, write detailed cost quotes, design & engineer space, write contracts and orders, manage projects—installation though completion.

Essential Job Functions
• Space plan, design & engineer for custom cabinetry
• Write orders/review order confirmations
• Coordinate installation of cabinetry
• On-site measurements
• Manage project from concept to completion
• Manage and communicate with manufacturers regarding design/job status
• Research and specify and/or order associated products
• Consult with interior designers on jobs
